[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”The importance of sealing pipes and access chambers to the inspection room” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]During the construction phase of a road, rainwater drainage pipes are installed, and sealing both the pipes and the access chambers to the inspection room is an important factor.<\/p>\n

In this project, sealing was achieved using a bentonite joint<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Specifically, our GIUNTO BT100<\/b><\/a> bentonite joint is a bead made from natural sodium bentonite and butyl rubber, suitable for sealing construction joints. Quick and easy to apply, it adapts easily to construction site operations, maintaining its shape without warping.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”2608″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”2610″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]The photos above show the installation of the bentonite joint<\/b><\/a> along the edge of the internal pipe to seal the head of the joint between the 800 mm diameter ceramic tile pipe and the entrance to the concrete chamber.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously, the BT100 JOINT<\/b><\/a> is installed at the base of the chamber before pouring the concrete to prevent future water seepage. Only then will the second formwork be installed.<\/p>\n

The bentonite joint is easily installed with nails to the surface, taking care to position it carefully: it should be placed at the center of the reinforcing bar section, taking care to place it side by side at the overlaps between one section and the next.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”Safety and sealing: innovation and durability” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]In this project to secure the inspection chambers and seal large-diameter ceramic tile pipes, the use of bentonite joints played a key role. This cutting-edge solution ensured a long-lasting and highly resistant seal, even under high water pressure.
