However, the conditions to which the materials are subjected on site are often more &#8220;stressful&#8221; than those specified by suppliers as operating conditions. As a result, construction defects, such as pressurized water leaks, can occur.<\/p>\n<p>In our case, epoxy resins were applied to seal the holes. However, due to a possible incorrect mixing or incorrect curing of the components, &lt;strong&gt;leaks occurred along the main stress lines, with water leaking from the holes in the fiber cement spacers&lt;\/strong&gt;. Another issue involved the gravel nests present, which caused leaks in the structure and required corrective action.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2627&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2629&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;PROIND waterproofing products: SIRIOSEAL&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]The solution adopted for <strong>waterproofing pressurized sewage treatment tanks<\/strong>, using PROIND S.r.l. products, specifically <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/proind.it\/en\/prodotto\/sirioseal\/\">SIRIOSEAL<\/a><\/strong>, involved the use of materials that could be applied with common construction site tools (trowel, paintbrush, and float). These materials, in addition to being non-hazardous to health, guarantee high performance under stress and operating conditions. SIRIOSEAL proved particularly effective, being an osmotic cementitious mixture capable of creating a thin coating resistant to water penetration, even under pressure, both positive and negative.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2632&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2634&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Execution of work: sealing along fibre cement spacers&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]We decided not to completely drill the structure (thus maintaining the cap and seal inside the tank), and by evaluating the depths, we:<\/p>\n<p>1. Drilled a hole near the pipe, removing a portion of the fiber cement spacer for a length of approximately 80-100 mm, &#8220;exposing&#8221; the cement portion;<\/p>\n<p>2. A bentonite paste such as <a href=\"https:\/\/proind.it\/en\/prodotto\/bentopasta\/\"><b>BENTOPASTA<\/b><\/a> was inserted inside the existing spacer. The paste, with a defined diameter, was given (being malleable) a length of approximately 50 mm and inserted into the hole, determining its position with a simple rod;<\/p>\n<p>3. After thoroughly wetting the hole and the work area, <a href=\"https:\/\/proind.it\/en\/prodotto\/bentopasta\/\"><b>BENTOPASTA<\/b><\/a> mortar was first applied inside the hole to compensate for any future water pressure, and subsequently;<\/p>\n<p>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/proind.it\/en\/prodotto\/bentopasta\/\"><b>BENTOPASTA<\/b><\/a> mortar was applied to the external surface, both as a &#8220;crystallizing bandage&#8221; for the previous mortar and to restore the repaired surface to an aesthetically pleasing appearance without altering the color of the surfaces.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2639&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Description of the project for the restoration of the waterproofing of purification tanks&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]Purification tanks are often constructed following good concrete practices, using commonly available<span class=\"excerpt-hellip\"> [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":110,"featured_media":2615,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[53],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4194","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-applications-on-site"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 -
