BENTOPASTA is a thixotropic, trowel-applied paste composed of natural sodium bentonite and non-toxic plasticizers.
When exposed to air, it remains plastic, has good resistance to driving rain, and adheres well to the substrate.
Directions for use: BENTOPASTA is used in bentonite waterproofing systems for sealing penetrations and overlapping joints between sheets or panels. It is also used for forming fillets, sealing spacers, and leveling the installation of bentonite systems.
Installation method: before installing the bentonite sheets, prepare the masonry substrates by sealing casting imperfections, cracks, voids, and formwork seams with BENTOPASTA using a trowel or spatula, and by forming a fillet with a pointing trowel at the internal corner of the foundation block.
Advantages: since it does not dry once exposed to air, it keeps the seals effective even if applied before confinement of the waterproofing with concrete or backfilling, significantly increasing system safety at critical points while also allowing optimal, safe, and cost-effective preparation of masonry substrates compared to the use of premixed cement mortars.
