EXPANDER K1 is a single-component synthetic sealant combined with hydrophilic polymers that give it expanding properties by absorbing water.
In its “fresh” state, it appears as an adhesive paste that transforms into a soft and durable rubber.
Fields of application: EXPANDER K1 is used whenever it is necessary to create an in-situ gasket with self-expanding characteristics, such as forming sealing rings between pipes and masonry, sealing cracks, creating watertight elastic joints between precast elements (septic tanks, manholes, catch basins), or as a hydrophilic expanding gasket for blade and tubular spacers during casting and in place.
Directions for use: first, thoroughly clean the area to be treated, removing oil, dust, and loose materials. Then, break the seal on the cartridge tip and insert the nozzle, which must be cut to the desired diameter based on the width of the element on which EXPANDER K1 is to be applied. Finally, apply the product continuously to ensure complete waterproofing.
Advantages: EXPANDER K1 absorbs water upon contact and expands up to twice its original volume, transforming into an elastic rubber that adapts to the voids created by structural movements. Thanks to the 320 ml cartridge packaging, it is easy to apply and adheres to any surface—from concrete to metal and even glass—even when wet. Once cured, it provides excellent durability, high chemical-physical resistance, and watertight sealing against water, while also offering protection against chemical attack such as chlorides, sulfates, and nitrites.
