SIRIOSEAL is a ready-to-use cement-based powder product, suitably additivated, which when mixed with water produces a thin coating resistant to water penetration.
Fields of application: the product is ideal for protecting concrete from the typical aggressions of marine and industrial environments, ensuring long-lasting durability of structures. It is also particularly effective as a waterproof coating for masonry or concrete works such as tanks, channels, swimming pools, and water treatment plants. Its formulation allows for reliable waterproofing even in the presence of hydrostatic pressure, both positive and negative. It is also perfect for waterproofing below-ground masonry, basements, and elevator shafts, ensuring long-term protection and resistance.
Directions for use: first, the substrate must be properly prepared by scarifying it and ensuring that it is sound, free from deteriorated or detached parts. Any rusted reinforcement must be cleaned, preferably by sandblasting, and the scarified surface must be washed with high-pressure water. Any pressurized water infiltration or leakage must be sealed using SIRIOBETON STOP.
The contact surfaces must then be wetted until fully saturated in order to saturate the substrate’s porosity, while any excess water present on the surface or in cavities must be removed before applying SIRIOSEAL. In the presence of high ambient temperatures, it is advisable to prepare the mixing water using 3 liters of water for each kilogram of SIRIOSEAL Component B, in order to ensure proper adhesion to the substrate, whether vertical or horizontal.
The first coat of SIRIOSEAL must be applied with a trowel, brush, or broom, taking particular care to fully saturate porosities and any cracks. The second finishing coat can be applied with the same tools used for the first, or with a plastering machine, allowing at least 24 hours between applications.
Finally, after setting, it is important to keep the SIRIOSEAL surface moist or otherwise prevent water from evaporating too quickly, an operation that is particularly important in hot, dry, and windy conditions.
Advantages: the product is easy and quick to apply with a trowel, brush, or broom, ensuring excellent adhesion to the substrate and long-term durability. It provides a high level of waterproofing against water, both under positive and negative pressure, while maintaining water vapor permeability.
Mixing water dosage: average water required for fluid mixes: 24–26 L per 100 kg of SIRIOSEAL.
Consumption: 2.5–3 kg/m2 (for a 2-coat system).
Packaging: 25 kg bag for SIRIOSEAL GREY or WHITE; 5 kg bucket for SIRIOSEAL GREY.
