Securing inspection chambers and sealing ceramic stoneware pipes in Milan

The photos above show the installation of the bentonite joint along the edge of the internal pipe to seal the head of the joint between the 800 mm diameter ceramic tile pipe and the entrance to the concrete chamber.

Simultaneously, the BT100 JOINT is installed at the base of the chamber before pouring the concrete to prevent future water seepage. Only then will the second formwork be installed.

The bentonite joint is easily installed with nails to the surface, taking care to position it carefully: it should be placed at the center of the reinforcing bar section, taking care to place it side by side at the overlaps between one section and the next.

In this project to secure the inspection chambers and seal large-diameter ceramic tile pipes, the use of bentonite joints played a key role. This cutting-edge solution ensured a long-lasting and highly resistant seal, even under high water pressure. Bentonite joints, known for their ability to expand and adapt to temperature and humidity variations, allowed the infrastructure to be consolidated safely and environmentally friendly.
