Fixing metal structures to concrete foundations in Trezzano

The possibility of constructing a metal structure before expanding a facility under construction, using HDPE columns and then fixing them to a concrete base, is exploited with a pouring mortar such as SIRIOBETON AC.

SIRIOBETON AC is a class R4, anti-shrinkage rheoplastic pouring mortar, compliant with the UNI EN 1504-3 standard, with a compressive strength equal to or greater than 45 MPa.

This mortar represents an effective and practical “locking system” for the construction site, based on simple and intuitive products for any operator. It is quick to use and guarantees high final performance of the applied product.

The formwork, visible in the first photo below, is simple and constructed with wooden planks quickly positioned for immediate intervention. The same photo also shows the pockets created in the concrete surface of the base using mechanical drills, into which the properly sized anchor bolts were placed, spaced at the necessary distance to secure the metal structure.

The surfaces are wetted (second photo) to ensure adequate adhesion for the subsequent pouring of SIRIOBETON AC mortar. This mortar can be easily mixed on site using a mechanical whisk mixer or a concrete mixer, and its application is equally quick.

The third photo shows the SIRIOBETON AC mortar being removed from the wheelbarrow, poured into the pouring area.

The fourth photo, finally, shows the area formed and filled with SIRIOBETON AC pouring mortar. Since it is not completely contained, it has overflowed in one spot, highlighting its high fluidity.
