GIUNTO BT 100 is a waterstop strip made of natural sodium bentonite and butyl rubber for sealing construction joints.
Fields of application: it is used in construction joints of reinforced concrete structures below ground level to prevent water seepage through the discontinuity joint between successive pours.
Instructions for use: first, level the laying surface where necessary. Then apply GIUNTO BT 100 at a minimum distance of 7 cm from the outer edge of the concrete pour, ensuring continuity between adjacent strips by overlapping them laterally by at least 5 cm. Fix the joint by nailing every 30 cm and, if necessary, use a metal confinement mesh.
Advantages: the product is able to swell up to its maximum expansion capacity without losing consistency, thus preventing washout of the bentonite gel, and features delayed expansion that allows installation even under difficult weather conditions, with minimal expansion during the first 48 hours. In addition, the bentonite–butyl rubber compound can come into contact with potable water without any risk of contamination.
Dimensions: section: 20×30 mm; length: 5 m.
Packaging: cardboard box containing 25 m of GIUNTO BT 100 in 5 m rolls (5 rolls per box).
Avoid through-elements (spacers) below or resting on the laying plane of the strip. Therefore, start the reinforcement panels with a raised formwork lining and not directly from the base of the concrete pour.
