Waterproofing of a new residential building in Rozzano

The waterproofing of a new residential structure in an area where the groundwater could interact with the structure’s foundation required the use of a mixed solution, based on both bentonite products (bentonite sheets) and elastic waterproofing mortars.

The construction site in question also required (given the proximity to pre-existing structures) the creation of pilings to reinforce both the excavation and the new construction.

The flexibility and ease of use of PROIND S.r.l.’s bentonite products and mortars also allowed them to be adapted to seemingly complex solutions such as this one. Last but not least, all these solutions were implemented with a focus on safety on the construction site, thus avoiding the use of open flames and using products that any contractor can easily employ.

In fondazione sono posti in opera i teli bentonitici BENTOGEO GRIP TG (con certificato CE di conformità del controllo della produzione in fabbrica N. 1982 – CPR – 538 e Dichiarazione di Prestazione (DoP) secondo la UNI EN 13491). Per quanto riguarda le porzioni verticali (palificata) sono stati utilizzati i teli BENTOGEO GRIP TP (più leggeri e comodi nel loro utilizzo ma che analogamente sono certificati CE con Certificato di conformità del controllo della produzione in fabbrica N. 1982 – CPR – 538 e Dichiarazione di Prestazione (DoP) secondo la UNI EN 13491). Lungo i giunti da ripresa di getto è stato posato il GIUNTO BT 100 mentre la bentonite in pasta BENTOPASTA è stata impiegata per le zone di raccordo e sigillatura.

È stata posta in opera la “cappa di protezione” con calcestruzzo di circa 5cm sopra il telo bentonitico (come potete vedere nella foto precedente) al fine di proteggere il telo stesso posato: tutto questo sia in vista di potenziali piogge imminenti sia per le operazioni di movimentazione della rete di armatura il tutto unito al calpestio dei posatori). Ovviamente lo spessore della platea di fondazione è stato opportunamente dimensionato dal progettista.

As regards the waterproofing of the external walls, the designer specifically requested a solution using waterproof elastic mortar: the technical solution was found with the two-component mortar SIRIOBETON FLEX/M. This mortar did not undergo deformation even when applied in high external temperatures and has high resistance even 24 hours after application. It maintains positive buoyancy and is easy to apply (as also evidenced by the photographic documentation).
